Junior high is a great time to begin the process of students managing their workload and taking on the responsibility of meeting assignment deadlines. Junior high classes meet for 2.5 hours, cover multiple core subjects, and include a challenging amount of homework. The accountability and social nature of the class aids students in making this transition in a fun, engaging way. Students will be expected to keep up with all assignments and meet deadlines both in class and via email assignments they must upload on certain days. While these skills may prove difficult for some students at first, the process and mastery of managing their workload and assignments will be well worth the effort when they enter high school. The classes include games, competitive incentives, and a year-end project, which differs by class.
