BRITISH LITERATURE is recommended for 11th-12th grades
This class will be taught during the 2023-2024 school year at the HCS Academy.
Cost: $400/year (+HCS Academy Admin fee)
In British Literature, students will write essays about the classic works of literature they are reading. Poetry, creative writing, vocabulary work, and a year-end project will be included. Additionally, students will learn how to write an opinion piece and submit an op-ed to a media outlet on a current event issue of their choosing.
PRE-REQ: A minimum of two years in a high school level literature class or curriculum is required. Students should be able to complete assignments in MLA format with argumentative thesis statement construction while adhering to precise writing requirements and restrictions. All pre-reqs from prior years apply. New students must submit a writing sample.
